I started out in police work back in 1979 as a Constable in my hometown. I started work with the Manchester Vermont, Police Department in March 1983 and worked my way up through the ranks, becoming Chief of Police in 2012.
I always loved doing criminal investigations and the art of interviewing people, so as I wound down my career, I trained to become a polygraph examiner. I sought the best training school and attended the PEAK Credibility Assessment Center in Cape Coral Florida.
As Chief, I know all too well the challenges agencies are having in hiring and keeping the right people. Having received this training along with my interviewing experience, I was able to bring some of the best individuals into my department before I retired. I got the chance to experience firsthand how a number of qualified candidates are often disqualified or ruled out of law enforcement for reasons that would not be disqualifying. I learned how some individuals will try to get past the process. Make no mistake, sometimes rotten apples will make it into the basket; no process is 100% but I’m impressed with what I have learned and how well it works. As real cops know, you never retire from this profession; you just move on. Let me help you hire the right people.
Be Safe
Chief Mike Hall (Ret.)
If you're reading this and reviewing this site, you're likely a police officer or someone who likes the police. Either way, thank you for visiting this site. Please support our law enforcement officers, their families and the support staff of the agencies. As someone who spent 40 years of his life doing police work, I can attest that 99% of all police officers are good people. Every profession has some bad actors, but by far most are decent, hard-working individuals who are just like any other person in your community. Under that badge is a real person who has all of life's issues, just like everyone else. They are expected to be different, which they are for placing their lives down to save another. If you'd like to make an officer's day, just approach him or her and thank them for doing what they do. Doing so will make their day!
